Research RSEE

Research School Ecology and Evolution

RSEE was established in 2009 as local research school within the Groningen Institute for Evolutionary Life Sciences at the University of Groningen, and is administered under the Groningen Graduate School of Science (GGSS). RSEE organizes and coordinates all aspects of PhD-level education in the fields of ecology and evolution.

Within the institute, RSEE provides a framework for planning, course work, supervision, professional development and mentoring of its >125 PhD students — from the starting phase of their project to the completion of their thesis.

At the national level, RSEE works closely with institutes and research schools throughout the country to develop and coordinate a varied programme of specialized advanced courses, master classes, summer schools and meetings for PhD students. RSEE actively participates in the Netherlands Ecological Research Network (NERN), the national platform for junior and senior researchers in the fields of ecology and evolution.
