Tjalling Halbertsma over onderwijshervorming in Binnen-Mongolië, Radio 1
VPRO Bureau Buitenland, Radio 1: "In de Chinese autonome regio Binnen-Mongolië zijn heftige protesten tegen het voornemen van de Chinese overheid om de taal van het onderwijs te veranderen: er mag niet langer in het Mongools lesgegeven, maar voortaan in het Mandarijn. Binnen-Mongolië ligt in China, maar is officieel een onafhankelijk [sic: = "Autonome Regio"] gebied waar een grote Mongoolse minderheid woont. De protesten van de afgelopen week zouden de grootste zijn in meer dan tien jaar. Over de onrust in het noorden van China met Tjalling Halbertsma, bijzonder hoogleraar Mongolië aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (9 September 2020)."
