Distributed Optimal Frequency Control in Smart Microgrids

The supply-demand balance is the essential task of power systems which can be accomplished via frequency regulation. Due to the growing penetration of renewable generations and new loads such as electrical vehicles (EVs), the conventional frequency control schemes do not seem adequate. To address this issue, we propose a distributed frequency controller which minimizes the cost of conventional generation and maximizes the utility of wind turbine generation.
