Title: Tools and techniques for vector graphics design
Abstract:
I will present my latest research on vector graphics. First,
I present an interpolation technique for mesh-based gradients. Using
this technique, we have developed a prototype tool for design of
colour gradients in vector graphics, which will be demonstrated.
Second, I present still-in-progress work on high-level, data-driven,
editing and manipulation of vector graphics.
Bio: Dr Lieng is an associate professor at HiOA working on computer
graphics and imaging. In 2014, he graduated with a PhD from the
University of Cambridge, Fitzwilliam College. His PhD research,
supervised by Neil Dodgson and co-supervised by Jiri Kosinka at the
Computer Laboratory Rainbow Group, investigated novel techniques with
applications to design and art. In the academic year of 2014/2015, Dr
Lieng taught computer engineering courses at Bergen University College
and in 2011, he graduated with a MSc in graphics, imaging, and vision
from University College London.
Colloquium coordinators are Prof.dr. M. Aiello (e-mail : M.Aiello rug.nl ) and
Prof.dr. M. Biehl (e-mail: M.Biehl rug.nl )
