For all BCN PhD students.
Content
Part 1: Transferable skills: time management and communication skills
Part 2: The essential elements of working within a project structure; the project assignment; the ‘interplay of forces’ surrounding a project; timetabling; decision-making; managing a project; writing a project assignment; organizational cultures; project-friendly cultures; the consultation interview; the phase model of research projects. The participants will not only become familiar with the theory, but will also practice useful skills by means of assignments and exercises. The follow ups are especially aimed at preparing the PhD students for completing their thesis within the limited time span of their research period.
Target Group
BCN PhD students in the first six months of their appointment will receive an invitation for Part 1 of the course. Part 2 will be planned 9 months later.
Credits
2 EC for participation in part 1 and 2.
Objectives
Learn to work within a project structure as an effective method of scientific research that should result in a doctoral dissertation. A very important course for those who want to be successful as a PhD student.
Period
BCN PhD students will receive an invitation when a new edition is planned. The course is organized a few times a year.

This course contains two or more compulsory course days. This course will only be announced by email.
