Research Institute Brain and Cognition

The Research Institute Brain and Cognition was established in 2005. The institute is part of the Graduate School of Medical Sciences and Research School of Behavioural and Cognitive Neurosciences.

Our mission is to promote research that is aimed at understanding the function of the healthy brain and dysfunction of the nervous system with reference to neurological and psychiatric disorders. Our research emphasizes translational collaboration between lab-based and hospital-based researchers integrating different levels of neuroscience research.

Brain and Cognition also educates and trains (research) master and PhD students to become independent neuroscience researchers.

The Research Institute Brain and Cognition harbors four research programmes:
1. Molecular Neuroscience and Ageing Research (MOLAR)
2. Clinical Cognitive Neuropsychiatry Research Program (CCNP)
3. Perceptual and Cognitive Neuroscience (PCN)
4. Movement Disorders (MD)
