The position of Director of Research is currently being fulfilled by Ramses Wessel.

The Director of Research is responsible for:

• managing the Research Office
• determining the research programmes and their implementation in consultation with the departments and research programme leaders
• developing policy aimed at acquiring second- and third-stream research funding
• advising the faculty board on the internal quality assurance system and the follow-up of external quality assurance with regard to research.

The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Education are laid down in Articles 29 to 31 of the Faculty Regulations.

The Director of Research is accountable to the Faculty Board.
