Security, Technology & e-Privacy Research Group

STeP, the ‘Security, Technology and e-Privacy Research Group’, is an interdisciplinary team of researchers – from early stage researchers to advanced researchers - organised within the Department of Transboundary Legal Studies (TLS).

The team covers many areas of information policy & technology law including privacy, data protection, security sciences, surveillance, cybercrime, self-regulation and health informatics. The STeP Research Group currently co-ordinates two European funded projects – RESPECT (Rules, Expectations & Security through Privacy-Enhanced Convenient Technologies) and MAPPING ((Managing Alternatives for Privacy, Property and Internet Governance) and participates in several other European funded projects.
