R.J.L. (Rutger) Timmer, LLM

Rutger Timmer is a PhD student and lecturer at the department of Private Law and Notarial Law at the University of Groningen. His field of research is land law. Rutger Timmer is conducting comparative research on the protection of bona fide third parties that have relied on false and/or incomplete information from the land register. One of the main research questions is how the connections with the land law/property law and the system of land registration affect the way a system of third party protection is able to provide legal security to both the holder of a proprietary interest in land and to third parties.

In addition to this, Rutger Timmer is carrying out research for the Dutch Kadaster on the reliability of the Dutch land register.
