Faculty again Top Ranked for Public International Law

Date:22 May 2024

For the seventh year in a row, our Public International Law LLM has been included among LLM-Guide's Top 10 List for Public International Law programmes, worldwide. LLM-Guide is the premier database for Master of Laws (LLM) programmes around the world, and their Top 10 lists focus on different factors such as offered concentrations, existing rankings, international balance, location, and research capacity.

Regarding the continued ranking for our Public International Law LLM, Assoc. Prof. André de Hoogh, Acting Academic Director of the programme, finds,
"It's always nice to be recognized internationally for the quality of our programme, and this confirms the positive experiences we observe in feedback from programme graduates. This quality is, without a doubt, a reflection of the dedication and expertise of the lecturers, from various Faculty departments, that teach within the programme".

What can students that study in top Public International Law programmes expect for their careers? According to LLM-Guide, "Graduates of the best LLM programmes in Public International Law are well-positioned for diverse career pathways. Opportunities abound in international law firms, where global expertise is prized, as well as in international courts and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) dedicated to promoting global justice and cooperation".

This echos the career prospects we see among graduates of the programme, having completed the unique courses included within the curricula. Specifically, our Law in Practice module offers students the chance to particpate in an internship and/or project that ensures they experience how law or legal science works in practice.

Prospective LLM students that would like to know more about the Public International Law LLM programme are welcome to join our Masters Week presentations for the programme held throughout the year. A recording of our most recent (online) masters week presentation for the LLM can also be found here.
