Dr Nynke Vellinga receives KNAW Early Career Partnership

Nynke Vellinga, senior researcher in Technology and Law at the Faculty of Law, has received a KNAW Early Career Partnership. This will give her the opportunity to organize an interdisciplinary scientific meeting.
Autonomous mobility in road and maritime traffic
Vellinga will receive 10.000 euros for organizing a conference entitled ‘Drive by AI: legal challenges of autonomous mobility in road and maritime traffic’. This conference complements Vellinga’s research into different legal aspects of automated mobility.
This year, the KNAW Early Career Partnership has been awarded to ten young researchers, two of whom work at the University of Groningen. In addition to Vellinga, Anna Moles (Assistant Professor of Mediterranean Archaeology at the Faculty of Arts) has been awarded the partnership for her research entitled 'Health Inequality in the Ancient World'.
KNAW Early Career Partnerships
With the KNAW Early Career Partnerships, the KNAW aims to encourage researchers at the start of their careers to enter into or expand interdisciplinary collaborations. The ultimate goal is to gain new insights into research in all scientific fields.
Researchers who obtained their PhD between three and seven years ago and who are employed by a university in the Kingdom of the Netherlands are eligible for the partnership. The partnerships are made available from the KNAW Academy Fund.
