Jean Monnet Chair for Justin Lindeboom

Justin Lindeboom has been awarded a Jean Monnet Chair by the European Commission. He will receive this chair in order to further his teaching and research in the field of the new European economic constitution.
European economic constitution
The term “European economic constitution” refers to the fundamental rules of the European internal market and European competition law. Traditionally, these rules focused primarily on removing trade barriers between Member States and protecting effective competition.
Social protection, sustainability and other non-economic interests are increasingly playing a role in the regulation of the European market economy.
As Jean Monnet Professor, Lindeboom will set up a line of research into this transformation of the European economic constitution. The results of this research will then be integrated into European law bachelor's and master's programmes.
Curriculum vitae
Lindeboom is an associate professor of European law in the Department of Business Law, European Law and Tax Law. His research focuses on European constitutional law, competition law and internal market law.
A Jean Monnet Chair is a three-year grant to deepen education and research in a specific area of EU studies. In addition, Lindeboom will receive the honorary title of Jean Monnet Professor for three years.
