AIWitness Project nominated for Computable Awards 2025

The AIWitness project has been nominated for the Computable Awards 2025 in the ‘Partner Project’ category. Laura Peters, Associate Professor at our faculty, is the initiator from the University of Groningen (UG) for this innovative collaboration between Capgemini, Scotty AI, and the UG.
AIWitness: artificial intelligence for faster and more reliable witness statements
The AIWitness project aims to use artificial intelligence (AI) to record, translate, and automatically transcribe witness statements in criminal cases. The technology enables statements to be processed quickly, accurately, and in any language. In doing so, the project contributes to reducing lead times within the legal system and improving the accuracy of gathered information, both crucial for legal proceedings.
One of the top 10 partner projects
Entries for the Computable Awards were evaluated by a professional jury based on four criteria: complexity and risks, added value, originality and innovative strength, and the role of the supplier. AIWitness received a final score of 7.76, placing it among the top ten highest-scoring partner projects of 2025.
Voting opens today (16 June)
The voting process for the Computable Awards 2025 begins today, 16 June. The final winners will be determined 50% by public vote and 50% by the jury’s decision. The winners will be announced during a festive awards ceremony on 18 November at De Polar in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, under the theme Rebooting Reality.
