Rosalie Koolhoven joins BSI Steering Groups for a sharing economy standard

15 October 2018

Rosalie Koolhoven (IT Law – Transboundary Legal Studies) joined the British Standards Institute to help draft a PAS (Publicly Available Specifications) for sharing economy platforms. She will be part of the steering group specifying requirements for platform operators providing a service within the sharing economy. It covers consumer safety, management activities, resourcing, risk management and evaluation and continual improvement of the service.

A PAS is a consultative document based on the British Standard model. An organisation or association who wishes to document standardised best practices on a specific subject can commission a PAS, subject to the BSI acceptance process. A PAS occupies the intellectual space between in-house and national standards. It can be considered for further development as a British Standard, or constitute part of the UK input into the development of a European or International Standard.

This PAS for sharing economy platforms is sponsored by the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee and Japanese Standards Association.
