New research on abortion laws and gender stereotypes

PhD candidate Lucia Berro Pizzarossa has been awarded a grant by the INSPIRE project to undertake a Doctorate mobility, at University of the Western Cape, South Africa.

The INSPIRE project is an Erasmus Mundus Action project financed by the European Commission that focuses in the interaction of research, education and innovation supporting research that will provide innovative solutions to 21st century problems.

With her research Lucia Berro Pizzarossa focuses on abortion laws and gender stereotypes. She researches legal barriers to access sexual and reproductive rights. In this study she will be working with Prof. Ebenezer Durojaye Associate Professor of Law and Head of the Socio-economic Rights at the Dullah Omar Institute. Uruguay and South Africa will be used as case studies.
