Lokin courses |
In the second semester of 2025–2026, we will launch a new extracurricular programme: the Lokin Colleges. These small-scale courses (3 ECTS) are designed for students who wish to deepen their knowledge in a specific area of law. The courses are taught by lecturers with extensive expertise and will have a limited number of places. This ensures ample opportunity for discussion, questions, and in-depth learning. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the lecturer concerned or Rozemarijn Post at onderwijsbeleid-rechten@rug.nl |

What to expect |
During a Lokin College, you work in a small group alongside a lecturer who specialises in the subject. The sessions are interactive in nature: you prepare literature or sources in advance, discuss them within the group, and explore both current and historical legal issues relevant to the field. Because the courses are linked to the lecturer’s expertise or research interests, they offer a level of depth not typically found in regular courses. There is plenty of space for questions, discussion, and exploring different perspectives, ensuring that you are actively engaged in the learning process. The assessment method may differ per Lokin College. Lecturers choose their own form of assessment, which may include a short written assignment, a presentation, a reflection task, or another suitable way to demonstrate your understanding of the material. Assessment criteria will be discussed with the group in advance. The 3 ECTS and the grade you obtain for a Lokin College will appear on your diploma supplement.
