Admission requirements pre-LLM programmes

The LLM programmes of the University of Groningen are selective master's degree programmes. Because a successfully completed pre-LLM programmes grants you access to such a selective LLM programme, it is necessary to meet the requirements for the LLM upon application for the pre-LLM programme.

You can find the admission requirements (especially the English proficiency requirements) and selection criteria (GPA, motivation, etc.) on this page, which equally apply to the pre-LLM programmes.

The application is done online. It is important to check the admission requirements and selection criteria before applying, so you have all necessary documents available when doing so. You will be required to hand in the following documents:

  1. (preliminary) transcript of studies
  2. diploma/degree certificate or statement of (expected) graduation
  3. English proficiency test score
  4. motivation letter (max. 650 words)
  5. curriculum vitae
  6. an academic reference letter

You will receive your admission decision within six weeks after application at the very latest.
