Human Rights Seminar 7: Access to essential medicines: an essential service?

This seminar is part of the seminar series Human Rights in Essential Public Service Provision, presented by the Groningen Centre for Law and Governance and the Groningen International School of Law.

The seminar is based on a project called Essential Legislation for Medicine Access (ELMA), which falls under the Right to health initiative - University of Groningen. In this project, students from both law and medicine analyse domestic legislation in a number of countries so as to identify essential elements of legislation in support of universal access to essential medicines.

This seminar will discuss the findings from the student project and explore whether the provision of essential medicines can be identified as a public essential service.
