Becoming a Peace Ambassador

The story of Vicki Collinge and Marieke Klijnstra
12 December 2018
Marieke Klijnstra and Vicki Collinge at the Peace Summit of Emerging Leaders

Students Vicki Collinge (MA Religion, Conflict and Globalization) and Marieke Klijnstra (BA Religious Studies) represented the University of Groningen at the UN Peace Summit of Emerging Leaders in Bangkok, 28 - 30 November 2018. This three-day conference was organized by Humanitarian Affairs Asia. Some 350 potential Peace Ambassadors learned about Peacebuilding and issues of conflict through the personal testimony of first-hand survivors.

An extraordinary experience about which you can read more in the blogpost both students wrote. In this post, they also convey what they plan to do as new UN Peace Ambassadors, now that they have returned.
