The UG celebrates International Women’s Day
05 March 2025

On 8 March, we celebrate International Women’s Day — a day to celebrate the power of women and raise awareness of gender equality and women’s rights. The theme for 2025 is For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.

International Women’s Day has a long history as a social movement for women’s suffrage, better working conditions, and gender equality. Today, it remains an important moment to take action against inequality and injustice.

This year, the UG celebrates this day by presenting a special photo series: Women in Science. Women from various fields proudly and powerfully pose in front of photographer Reyer Boxem’s camera, showing that solidarity, inclusion, and diversity in science is something we should celebrate and continue to celebrate.
