SNN funding for Avraamidou and Sburlea
Professor Lucy Avraamidou (Centre for Learning and Teaching) and Dr. Andreea Sburlea (Bernoulli Institute) are partners in a project that received funding by the Northern Netherlands alliance (Samenwerkingsverband Noord-Nederland, SNN). The project is coordinated by STARK Learning B.V and with Sigbar B.V also as a partner. The grant is worth EUR 500,000, of which Avraamidou and Sburlea receive around EUR 100,000.
The title of the funded project is ‘An AI-based learning framework for personalised training of technical personnel’. The aim is to develop, implement, and evaluate a digital learning framework that supports users’ socio-emotional development broadly and specifically empathy, communication, collaboration, leaderships, and problem-solving skills. The learning framework will be pilot-tested in industry settings in the northern part of the Netherlands as well as in classrooms at the Faculty of Science and Engineering (University of Groningen) in the context of the Honours College, before it becomes freely available to use by industry and educational institutions.
