Dimitry Kochenov: 'Extend investment citizenship Cyprus'
Prof. Dr Dimitry Kochenov (EU Constitutional Law) took part in a radio broadcast of BBC World (Russian) service, providing expert analysis of the proposed amendments of the investment citizenship regime of the Republic of Cyprus. During a half an hour-long interactive programme 'Вам слово' ("The Floor Is Yours"), he defended the Cypriot initiative to extend citizenship of the island and, also, EU citizenship, to the investors who lost significant amounts (EUR 3.000.000 or more) in the context of the Cyprus bailout. The measure is likely to affect hundreds of Russian millionaires and is a subject of a heated debate in that country.
