Lifetime achievement award for marketing professor Michel Wedel
The 2008 Churchill Award was presented to prof. Michel Wedel, honorary professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business. The Churchill Award for lifetime achievement in the academic study of Marketing Research is given each year by the AMA (American Marketing Association) Market Research Special Interest Group to an outstanding research scholar for lifetime contribution to the academic field of marketing research.
The Churchill Award is in to honor Dr. Gilbert A. Churchill, retired professor of Marketing at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Curriculum vitae
Prof.dr. M. Wedel (1957) is honorary professor in Market Research at the Faculty of Economics and Business and also holds the Pepsico Chair in Consumer Research at the Smith School of Business of the University of Maryland in College Park, USA. He studied biology and statistics and was awarded his PhD in marketing in 1990 at Wageningen University. Wedels research focuses on methods and techniques in market research and the use of statistical en econometric methods to solve marketing problems.
