"I was involved in a project at Unilever China and at the Shanghai Stock Exchange, which were both incredible experiences."

"International Economics & Business (IE&B) is about the behaviour of individuals, businesses and governments in an international setting. It includes politics and international relations and extends beyond borders. That's why I chose this programme, because it is extremely useful even if you don't intend to become an economist. I completed the double degree programme 'China and the world economy', a two-year programme in which the second semester is completed in Shanghai.

The programme provides you with a solid skills base and includes theories, numbers and statistics in a well-combined package. This degree is about learning to think in a different way. You can apply this new mind set to almost everything, not just business. During my time in Shanghai I had the chance to do internships in the second semester because of the flexible schedule. I was involved in a project at Unilever China and at the Shanghai Stock Exchange, which were both incredible experiences. I also volunteered at Chinese migrant schools, where I taught English.

Now that I have graduated I am looking for a job at a big international firm. I am sure that the IE&B programme will help me accomplish this. A true Dutch experience in a small student city combined with an incredible international experience in one of the world's largest cities have prepared me for the next step."
