Arts activities during Zpannend Zernike and EU Researchers Night

28 September 2022

On 1 October, researchers from the Faculty of Arts will participate in Zpannend Zernike: the Groningen science festival for young and old. Join us in the Academy Building and Forum Groningen between 12 and 5 ‘o clock, and learn more about science by taking part in scientific tests and experiments.

Zpannend Zernike at the Academy Building

In front of the Academy Building on Broerplein is the Spraaklab (Speech Lab), a laboratory on wheels where researchers can scan your tongue with an echograph, and can predict where you come from based on your dialect. In the Academy Building, children can participate in space training and become a real language astronaut. And with a short experiment, they can discover how language and language use are related to how fast the brain works. Archaeologists are bringing ancient animal bones to investigate what people ate in the past, and where they got their food from.
