Online Opening of the Academic Year: Faculty of Arts

13 August 2020

The opening of the new academic year of the Faculty of Arts will take place on Monday, 31 August. Due to constraints because of the coronavirus, this year’s opening will not be held live in the form of a public lecture, but will take place online. This online ceremony will be broadcast from 3 – 3:30 p.m.

Livestream

The opening of the academic year can be attended via the livestream on the UG YouTube Live channel. We look forward to welcoming you all online on 31 August.
Please invite as many people as you want to watch the Online Opening.

  • Opening and welcome speech (in Dutch) by Prof. dr. Anthonya Visser, Dean of the Faculty
  • Short lecture (in English) by faculty Lecturer of the Year 2019, Prof. dr. Lars Rensmann
  • Closing by the Dean and a virtual toast to the new academic year
