Social psychological antecedents of homesickness

Homesickness is a complex affective experience resulting from missing friends and family and having difficulties to adjust in the new environment. Much of the research in that area has a clinical focus. The present project examines social psychological factors contributing to homesickness. We particularly focus on the perception of home as either fixed or more dynamic. Moreover, we examine how the identification with the old and the new environment contributes to a successful adjustment (or the lack thereof).
