Start Your Studies: Kick-off Event MA Theology and Religious Studies

The Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies organizes a Start Your Studies Event for all it's new Master's degree students and exchange students on Wednesday 28 August 2019. You will receive an invitation from the Faculty. On this day, you will receive information on the electives in your programme; you can register for these during the event. In addition, we will give important instructions about our computer and study facilities, so it is highly recommended that you attend. Plus it's the best way to get to know your fellow students and lecturers and learn all about finding your way around the faculty building!

Opening Academic Year faculty of Theology and Religious Studies: 4 September

On 4 September, the Faculty organizes the official Opening of the Academic Year of our Faculty. During the opening and drinks afterwards, you can meet fellow students and all the lecturers of the Faculty.

Immigration Day - Wednesday 28 August

The Immigration day for Non-EU students will take place in the Oosterpoort, and is a day for students to register with city hall, pick up their residence permit card from IND (if ready), and receive other useful information where required. You will be invited in certain time slots throughout the day - emailed to you personally by the ISD.

Welcoming Ceremony University of Groningen: 29 August

The University organizes an official Welcoming Ceremony in the Oosterpoort for all new international guests on Thursday 29 August 2019. All new international students should receive an invitation from the University.

During the Welcoming Ceremony of the University, all new international students will be addressed by distinguished speakers such as the mayor and the president of the university. Also, an information fair will take place where students will be introduced to whatever the university and the city have to offer in terms of sports and cultural facilities, international student associations and much more! We will end the day in celebration of your arrival with live music, DJ's and VJ's during a big Welcoming Festival in the Oosterpoort.

Introduction Week ESN: 30 August - 4 September

ESN Groningen is the biggest international student organisation in Groningen that organises more than 150 social, cultural, travel, career and sport activities throughout the year! Make sure to join the biggest event, the ESN Introduction Week from August 30 – September 4 2019! Joining this week is the perfect kick-off for your study abroad, the chance to make new friends and discover the ins and outs of Groningen! KEI-week: 12 - 16 August

And why not come to Groningen two weeks earlier and join the general introduction programme for all new students in Groningen, called the KEI-week? During this week you will be placed in an international KEI-group with about 12 to 15 other new students. Half of the students in your group will be Dutch and the other half comes from abroad. During the KEI-week you can visit information markets and get into contact with all the fraternities and student societies. You will have a taste of the cultural and sporting facilities that Groningen has to offer and get to know new people. So the KEI-week is the key (KEI) to your future!
