Marjon Westerbeek new Managing Director at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies

As from June 1 2023, Marjon Westerbeek will be taking office as the new Managing Director at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies (known as the Faculty of Religion, Culture and Society from 1 September 2023 onwards). She will succeed Nienke Bastiaans who, as Managing Director within the University of Groningen, has made the move to the Faculty of Spatial Sciences.
Marjon Westerbeek studied Controlling at the University of Groningen and has worked at various places within the UG since 2013. She started at former Facility Services (nowadays known as Facility Management), after which she worked as a financial controller at the Center for Information Technology for a year. Since 2015 she has been working as a management controller at the Faculty of Arts, and in the meantime has combined this position for a number of years at University College Groningen.
She is also a member of the Supervisory Board of the Ubbo Emmius comprehensive school and supervisory board member of the Lauwers & Eems school board.
We are pleased that she is now making the transition to our Faculty, and we look forward to the collaboration!
