Career Services

Perhaps you’re wondering: why already worry about career preparation, before students are even graduated?! The answer: students want a career that fits their studies, personalities, preferences and skills and employers prefer students who are well prepared for the job market. One could say that everything students do during their years at university - whether it is their choice of degree programme - will have an influence on their future career.

Job vacancies

Career Services advertises (part-time) jobs, internships and student assistantships. The " Career Tab " in the student portal shows information about job vacancies and upcoming career-related events to students. Teachers and UG-employees can advertise student assistantships online, more information is available via this link .

Workshops

Career Services organizes (online) workshops so students can develop skills necessary for future job(s). During career workshops students mostly develop soft skills, such as networking and how to make a job interview a success. While study programmes primarily focus on teaching students the necessary knowledge, developing career skills is necessary to get and keep a job after students graduate.

Career and degree programme

Finally, in order to be fully prepared for the future, students need to be aware of the options they have within their degree programme. It is important for students to know the options available and what choices best suit one’s preferred career. We encourage students to familiarize themselves with the possibilities within their degree programme, by taking a look at the "Study Choices & Career Advice" page under "Advice & Support" on the webpage of the degree programme on the Student Portal . Students are also advised to approach teachers, their academic advisor and/or other degree staff with questions about a specific work field.
