Academic Advisor

Academic advisors assist students in finding solutions to any problem encountered while studying and provide information about the degree programme. They are here to help you find your way in and around your degree programme. The academic advisor is also available for assistance, in case you have questions about (the preparation for) your degree programme.

You can basically ask your academic advisor any study- or programme-related questions, in person (for complicated questions or problems) or by email (for small issues/questions). Just make sure that you have actively searched for answers yourself (for example by consulting the information on the student portal or the online course catalogue Ocasys), before you contact your advisor. Academic advisors are basically walking encyclopedia's: they know everything about studying, your programme, finding solutions to problems, etc. And in case he/she doesn't know the answer immediately, your advisor will usually direct you to somebody who does know the answer.

To contact your academic advisor, you may walk in during open office hours (for short questions, max 10 minutes), or make an appointment. The contact details and open office hours of the academic advisor of your degree program are shown below. Please note that academic advisors have a summer break in July or August, so do not worry if the answer to your email takes some time.

Your academic advisors are Tom Vermist and Korrie Bonnema. Tom will be available for all first-year questions. Korrie Bonnema is available for higher-years students.
