Employment conditions

The EngD candidates who are selected for one of the EngD projects will enter the EngD programme Sustainable Process Design, and henceforth be "EngD trainees".

As a trainee, you will either be employed at the University of Groningen or at the company where the design project takes place. During this time, you will receive a monthly salary and do not have to pay any tuition fees.

Already an employee at a company

This type of candidate is already working in the chemical industry and wants to join the programme full- or part-time. Their company should propose a project for the trainee to join, which is focused on the development of Sustainable Process design.

MSc graduate hired by the University of Groningen

This type of candidate is an Master graduate (not necessarily recently graduated) who wants to join the programme full time. This trainee is hired by the University of Groningen and joins a project proposed by a chemical company, which is focused on the development of new, more efficient and sustainable processes of the chemical industry. This project will be developed at the company that proposed the project.
