New issue FEB Research Newsletter

We are happy to present a new issue of the FEB Research Newsletter.

This second issue of 2026 is focused on FEB’s impact in the northern region. Björn Mitzinneck, Philip Steinberg, and PhD candidate Emma Field tell us about their research in which they investigate how energy companies can create economic, social, and communal value for the regions where they operate.

Professor Thijs Broekhuizen talks about the Northern-Netherlands Innovation Monitor, an initiative he coordinates to map the innovation dynamics of Small and Medium sized Enterprises in the northern region.

We also spoke to PhD candidate Caitlin Kiernan, whose research focuses on the impact of municipal policies and the decentralization of youth care on child and adolescent well-being.
