Dutch schools strengthen collaboration in doctoral education in economics & business

The deans of 11 schools/research institutes in economics, business and management recently signed an agreement to facilitate doctoral course sharing. The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in doctoral education, enabling students to enroll in doctoral-level courses across participating institutions. The cooperation is an initiative of the Council of Deans in Economics and Business (DEB), in which Dutch faculties of economics and Business are united.
In the next phase, the focus will be on optimizing the collective portfolio of doctoral courses to ensure comprehensive coverage of economics, business, and management, as well as addressing any gaps in the current course offerings.
FEB Dean and DEB chair Peter Verhoef: “It is a significant milestone that the economics and business faculties in the Netherlands collaborate in their PhD and research master’s education. The cooperation is essential for the quality of the training programme for research master’s and PhD students. This is also a first and important step toward greater collaboration.”
