Maarten Gijsenberg, Aico van Vuuren and Sasan Mansouri appointed in editor roles

Professor Maarten Gijsenberg, Professor Aico van Vuuren and Assistant Professor Sasan Mansouri have all recently been appointed as associate- or co-editor of journals in their respective fields.
Maarten Gijsenberg, Professor of Marketing Dynamics, was appointed as associate editor of the Journal of Retailing. The journal is devoted to advancing the state of knowledge and its application with respect to all aspects of retailing, its management, evolution, and current theory. The field of retailing includes both products and services, the supply chains and distribution channels that serve retailers, the relationships between retailers and members of the supply channel, and all forms of direct marketing and emerging electric markets to households. Gijsenbergs main research focus is on dynamics over time in the effectiveness of marketing investments. In his research, he pays special attention to the impact of crisis situations on marketing mix effectiveness.
Aico van Vuuren, Professor of Econometrics, was appointed as associate editor of the Journal of Applied Econometrics (JAE). JAE is a global outlet for research in economics applying econometric techniques to a wide variety of problems. The journal covers topics in measurement, estimation, testing, forecasting, and policy analysis. JAE also aims to publish review and survey articles that make recent developments in the field of theoretical and applied econometrics more readily accessible to applied economists in general. Van Vuuren has worked on a broad range of research topics that are related to each other in terms of the use of econometric methods to estimate phenomena in economic theory. Among these are the estimation of gender wage gaps along the distribution, the impact of seniority on wages, the labour market outcomes of young university graduates and various topics in the economics of the housing market. Apart from his position at the University of Groningen, Van Vuuren is also affiliated with the University of Gothenburg (Sweden).
Sasan Mansouri, Assistant Professor at the Department of Accounting and Auditing, was appointed as co-editor of a special edition of Venture Capital, on artificial intelligence in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial finance. Venture Capital brings together research on entrepreneurial finance undertaken by academics from different disciplines and conducted from various methodological and philosophical standpoints and using a variety of research methods. It is a forum for communication between academic researchers, venture capital practitioners and policy-makers that raises the knowledge of venture capital activity and other types of entrepreneurial finance on a global basis. Mansouri´s expertise lies in the realms of digitalization and artificial intelligence, and specifically how they are used in the fields of finance and accounting. Furthermore, he studies the role of information intermediaries such as financial analysts and business media.
