World-beating results for economics, business and management in Shanghai Ranking

The University of Groningen has climbed close to the top of world rankings in Economics, Business Administration and Management, demonstrating the strength of the Faculty of Economics and Business in education globally.

The university is ranked 28 in the world in the subject of Business Administration, 47 in Economics, and 51-75 in Management in the 2019 Academic Ranking of World Universities. Also known as the Shanghai Ranking, the measure assesses the world's top 1500 colleges and universities based on objective indicators, and ranks institutions on their strength in 54 subjects.

"We are delighted to see our hard work towards excellence in core business and economics subjects reflected in a world class showing in the Shanghai Ranking," said Gerben van der Vegt, Professor in Organizational Behaviour and Academic Director of the Research Institute SOM.

"This is a credit to our staff and student body and can assure anyone thinking of studying or working at the Faculty of Economics and Business that they will be joining a top class research environment."
