Jan de Vries appointed as professor in Operations Management
Jan de Vries has been appointed as professor in Operations Management, in particular the interrelationship between planning and control systems and their organisational embedding, at the Faculty of Economics and Business. De Vries was already associate professor on the same chair and has been promoted to professor as of 1 July.
Professor De Vries studied Business Administration (MSc, PhD) at the University of Groningen. After his study Jan de Vries worked in the field of Operations management and Business Logistics, both as a consultant as well as a line-manager. Since 1984 he is a staff member at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen. In this Faculty he formerly held the position of director of the Production and Service management programme (1996-2002). He furthermore occupied several Managerial positions, both within as well as outside the Faculty, most of them in the field of Operations Management and Business Logistics.
Jan de Vries is also the programme director of the Bachelor programme Business Administration.
