The Focus Area Energy explained
The energy sector is changing dramatically. Conventional power firms are reporting financial losses while consumers are facing lower electricity prices and higher energy taxes in order to finance the subsidies for renewable energy. The transition to renewables fundamentally affects energy markets and the energy sector.
Completing the Focus Area Energy gives you specialised knowledge to help you successfully navigate the economic, business and financial challenges facing the energy sector.
To meet the requirements of the Focus Area Energy, you will need to:
- register with the focus area coordinator, see below
- successfully complete two out of the five predetermined energy electives
- write your Master's thesis on a topic related to this particular focus area
- important: to add this focus area to your diploma, you must include the focus area in the application for approval of your Master's programme in Progress
Make sure to fill out the registration form for the focus area coordinator, Prof. Machiel Mulder. After your registration you will receive more detailed information about the procedure.
Do you have a question before you want to register, please contact the focus area coordinator, Prof. Machiel Mulder.
Daniël Schans, MSc Finance:
"The focus areas of FEB provide students with the opportunity to explore a particular field and therefore I realised that it would be a great addition to the curriculum of the MSc Finance."
