Exploring what Groningen has to offer is always fun ❤️

'Tis the Season! The Holidays are finally here! To commemorate this, we created a bucket list of things you can do to pass the time!

1. Stop by the WinterWelVaart 19th - 21st December

During the WinterWelVaart, the city of Groningen will be transformed. With ships setting anchor around the A-Brug, the Westerhaven transformed, and the Kerstmarkt in full swing, the lights in Groningen will be like no other!

2. Watch a movie solo

Watching a movie solo might seem daunting; however, it can be one of the most relaxing experiences. No need to wait for people’s calendars to open up. Just pick a movie, go to the cinema, and relax!

3. Try something stereotypically Gronings

Groningen has many a snack. From Knols Koek to Eierbal to Droge Worst, there is always something new to try!

4. Go to a Museum!

An underrated activity is going to a Museum. With the changing exhibits, you will never get bored with learning something new! Whether it be human physiology or HipHop, Groningen has it all!

5. Make a Vision Board for 2026

Last but not least, make a vision board for 2026. What would you like to accomplish? What did you accomplish? Would you like to do some more travelling? Or are you planning on graduating soon? Put it all down and manifest away!

I hope you enjoyed reading this list! Be sure to check out our Lights in Groningen video, and we wish you a very Merry Holiday Season!
