Library is open to a limited extent: online services continue

Reserve a seat

It is possible to reserve a seat in the CMB, location: basement Faculty building, ADL 1. Please read the conditions when you register.

Borrow & return books

Borrowing books from the CMB collection is possible again, but students can collect requested books from the University Library City Center only. For UMCG employees, we can send books via internal mail.

You can return library books via the Bookbox outside the University Library City Centre. We do not charge fines for late returns during this period.

Online services

All online services will continue as usual.


Do you urgently need a specific book? Let us know and we will try to get it as an e-book.

Request articles

Students and staff can still request journal articles from other libraries.


Although you cannot schedule a face-to-face appointment during the closing period, you can always contact us for assistance:
