Dr. Karsten Schulz
My name is Karsten Schulz and I am assistant professor of Political Science at Campus Fryslân. The main focus of my current research is on the relationship between climate governance, anticipatory risk management and the governance of emerging technologies such as blockchain. I hold a PhD from the Center for Development Research at the University of Bonn, Germany. Before I joined Campus Fryslân I worked as a government consultant in the field of digitalization and as a researcher for a number of international organizations and climate change related research projects with a particular focus on climate adaptation in West Africa. I am also a research fellow of the Earth System Governance Project.
During my time away from the office I enjoy travelling, reading fiction, practicing martial arts and discovering new developments in virtual reality technologies as well as in the field of serious (and not-so-serious!) gaming.
