Dr. Maeve McKeown

I am a political theorist specialising in structural injustice, Iris Marion Young, reparations, and feminism. I'm originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, and I studied at the University of Manchester and University College London (UCL). Before joining UCF, I was a postdoc at the Goethe University Frankfurt and the University of Oxford, and Lecturer in Philosophy at Cambridge University for two years.

I am writing my first political theory book, With Power Comes Responsibility: The Politics of Structural Injustice (Bloomsbury Academic) and I'm working on an edited volume with Prof Jude Browne (Head of Politics, Cambridge), What is Structural Injustice?

Before committing to academia, I worked in theatre and have published a couple of books on theatre. I still love the arts and regularly attend theatre and live music events. I have also done lots of activism and hope to contribute to making academia a more inclusive environment for staff and students.
