UG/Campus Fryslân regularly organises the Science Cafe: an approachable event where two scientists speak about their fascination for a particular theme. This theme usually ties in with current events. The cafe is open to anyone interested in the science behind everyday things. Asing Walthaus, editor at the Leeuwarder Courant, hosts the event. The science café takes place in one of the oldest cafés in Leeuwarden: the Oranje Bierhuis.

Up-and-coming musicians from the Frisian music scene, booked by Podium Asteriks, showcase their talent during the science cafe. Music and science; the ingredients for a fun and scientific night out!
