Campus Fryslân and SPARK the Movement strengthen collaboration on education for sustainable development
Campus Fryslân collaborates with SPARK the Movement to embed learning for sustainable development, the circular economy, and societal transitions in education. Through this partnership, education, regional stakeholders, and contemporary societal challenges in the Northern Netherlands are closely connected.
A key element of this collaboration is its link to our Bachelor’s programme Global Responsibility & Leadership, Campus Fryslân’s #1 Top-Rated bachelor. Within this programme, students work in Living Labs with organisations in Friesland and the Northern Netherlands, developing local solutions to global challenges.
Campus Fryslân and SPARK the Movement recently reaffirmed their collaboration. In the 2025/2026 academic year, SPARK will participate in the Living Lab programme by contributing real-life challenges for students to work on, focusing on themes such as sustainability, circularity, data, and behavioural change.
The collaboration creates value for all parties involved. Students gain hands-on experience applying academic knowledge to real societal issues, while SPARK benefits from fresh perspectives, tangible outcomes, and opportunities to connect with emerging academic talent.
Other programme partners are Aeres, Firda, Van Hall Larenstein and NHL Stenden. Together, we are building future-oriented education that prepares students for the major societal challenges of today and tomorrow.
