Virtual reality grant for Campus Fryslân

20 December 2022
Virtual Reality
students explore both augmented and virtual reality

Teachers and students on both sides of the Atlantic will explore innovations in teaching and learning around augmented reality and virtual reality in a transatlantic exchange program. For this, UG/Campus Frsylân was awarded for a second time a Virtuele Internationale Samenwerkingsprojecten (VIS) grant from the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.

Sneakers in the Virtual Reality library

American and European students will use their phones to create 3D scans of commodities (ranging from a pair of sneakers to a Big Mac) and upload them along with an audio reflection to a Virtual Reality library. A series of EU/US virtual exchange events will be dedicated to presenting and discussing these 3D scans within the context of course content.

Global Cultures and Local Commodities

VIS grants are intended for the design, development and implementation of a virtual international cooperation project. In this project, Campus Fryslân will partner with Elon University (North Carolina, USA) on virtual exchange relating to the BSc. Global Responsibility & Leadership course Global Cultures and Local Commodities.
