How international is Campus Fryslân?

Campus Fryslân may be small-scale but between all the students and staff we cover many continents. It can be a worry for many students to leave their comfort zone of the home that they grew up in and the friends they have always had. However, the decision to move abroad may be one of the best decisions you ever make. I know it was for me.

In order to aid incoming students and help them feel a bit more comfortable, I have put together a list of all the nationalities in attendance at Campus Fryslân.

We have students from across the globe and that is one of my favourite things about Campus Fryslân. There are students from Ireland to India and from the Netherlands to Brazil. One of the great things about there being students from so many different countries is that you are constantly met with all of these different perspectives and opinions. Whatever preconceived idea you had about whatever country or stereotype will be completely smashed. Our students from European countries include Ireland, Italy, Hungary, Germany, Iceland, Sweden, Belgium, Finland, the United Kingdom, France, Austria, Lithuania and Estonia. Additionally, our students from non-European countries include Pakistan, Thailand, Russia, America, India, Mexico and Brazil.

Being lucky enough to have people from all over the world, means that we are also lucky enough to learn about these different cultures and ways of life. Campus Fryslân aims to be an inclusive and diverse community that is welcoming to people from every walk of life. One of the ways the faculty tries to achieve this goal is through their interdisciplinary programmes and having international members of the faculty council, student council and in the position of student assessor.

Aside from the students, the staff at Campus Fryslân are also from all over the world. There are staff from America, Austria, Brazil, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Iran, Japan, Turkey, Mexico, Portugal, UK, China, Croatia, France, Indonesia, Kenya, Russia and Vietnam. Personally, I love that we have teachers from all over the place. It means that you constantly get a different perspective on topics that you only had one way of looking at before meeting these people.

Which country are you from? Is there someone of your nationality already at CF or will you be the first? We are very excited to expand our international community.
