If a university wants to provide high quality teaching and innovative research, it has to invest. It has to invest in buildings, laboratories, equipment, but above all in people: students, lecturers and researchers from all over the world. Fortunately, over the centuries, we have always been able to count on the support of our alumni and friends who are concerned with our University.
The University of Groningen established the Ubbo Emmius Fund specifically for the purpose of fundraising. The fund was named after the first rector of our university.
Part of the Ubbo Emmius Fund is the Eric Bleumink Fund. The Eric Bleumink Fund (EBF) provides scholarships to talented students and researchers from developing countries. Thanks to this fund, these students and researchers can further develop themselves as a person and make important contributions to the development of their own country.
Besides the Ubbo Emmius Fund and the Eric Bleumink Fund, there are other funds that support our university, but were not established by the University. These you can find here.
