Sustainable florist for the UG
As of 1 November, flowers and flower arrangements for the University of Groningen may only be ordered from the florist In de Roos. This florist has two locations, one at Vismarkt in the city centre and one at Overwinningsplein, and scores very highly for quality and sustainability.
In de Roos has been awarded silver status by the sustainable floristry barometer Duurzame bloemist – the only florist in the province of Groningen to be recognized with this official sustainability certificate. The certificate is the only independent assessment of sustainability in the floristry branch in the Netherlands, and takes into account every aspect of the floristry business. With this silver status, In de Roos has demonstrated its societal commitment through more sustainable operations and through the sustainable procurements of its flowers and plants.
Owner Henk van der Veen is also working to improve sustainability related to clean transport, green energy, waste disposal, recycling, environmentally friendly detergents and fair labour practices. In de Roos hopes to achieve gold status in 2020.
Orders can only be placed through FacilityPortal.
