I am scientific coordinator at the Energy and Sustainability Research Institute Groningen (ESRIG) at the Faculty of Science & Engineering. With ESRIG we perform outstanding research that contributes to sustainable energy transition, and resource exploitation and utilization in the coming decades for more people in farer and cleaner way.Moreover, within the University of Groningen I am responsible for the development of a community of researchers working in the field of Energy Research. With initiatives like the Wubbo Ockels School for Energy and Climate our aim is to connect scientists with different academic backgrounds with the goal to initiate novel interdisciplinary research projects aiming for innovative breakthroughs in the global energy and climate challenges. Finally, I am chairing the working group of the Netherlands Energy Research Alliance, which comprises of almost all academic research organisations in The Netherlands that conduct Energy Research.
