Feedback from a Monster: Teaching Feedback, Group Work and Intercultural Skills in STEM
In today’s globalised world, intercultural communication skills are essential for students’ employability. However, educators often struggle to integrate these skills meaningfully and inclusively into their teaching. Group work, while a powerful tool for fostering intercultural learning, presents both opportunities and risks: it can enhance collaboration in small-scale, interactive settings, but may also lead to exclusion when communication dynamics are overlooked.
This interactive presentation introduces “Feedback from a Monster”, a serious game designed to spark meaningful dialogue about inclusive feedback in a playful and engaging way. Through role-play and reflection, the game facilitates diverse feedback styles and practical tools for facilitating inclusive group work.
All interactive presentation materials (including printable monster cards and a resource document) will be shared with participants, enabling immediate application in various programmes (already used in UG BSc AI mentoring programme). The materials are developed as part of the international ENLIGHT CoCreate project.
